Time-critical logistics operator GBA Services has brought its 30th anniversary year to a close with the commissioning of a special commemorative flagship vehicle.
The top-of-the-range DAF XF106 450FT tractor unit, uniquely fitted with the highest-specification luxury cab, sports a dazzling glow-in-the-dark livery designed and applied by AST Signs. GBA’s flagship also wears a personalised plate – Y30 GBA – and is named “Lady Gwendoline”, after the mother of GBA Managing Director David Birkbeck. The name was chosen from suggestions submitted by GBA’s drivers.
Employing an all-new 3M light-reflective vinyl, the livery of “Lady Gwendoline” is an evolution of the already-striking standard GBA fleet design, which recently earned the company a place in the finals of a major industry awards competition. Says GBA’s Fleet Manager, Mark Hailwood: “As people come into the depot in the morning, their headlights shine on the truck in the dark, and it’s like an apparition! People always comment on it – it’s really quite special.”
