The report clearly mentions that e-commerce has driven the increasing popularity of third-party logistics (3PL) and last-mile delivery vendors in the last 12-18 months. There is now a growing emphasis on the concept of a “Lean Supply Chain” for which the companies are looking at adapting technological improvements across the entire organization. A major highlight of the report is its observation on the growing opportunity for skilled workforce in the industry. “ We have witnessed an increased demand for candidates with deep experience in planning functions (demand and supply, sales and operation planning) across different levels. In particular, we see heavy demand in the business to consumer space (consumer products, retail, e-commerce),” the report says.
