Global technology giant IBM and domestic logistics major JM Baxi group have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) which will facilitate the latter to adopt advanced technological solutions for its expansion drive. The deal was recently inked in Mumbai.
As per the agreement, both IBM and JM Baxi will form a technology and innovation council wherein former’s technological expertise and latter’s industry understanding in port and shipping, inland terminals, port terminals, etc. will be aligned to formulate new solutions with blockchain being the base platform. The solutions will be particularly addressing the procedural bottlenecks in the exim trade and logistics operations. “The MoU envisages a joint go-to-market on feasible technology solutions,” a spokesperson of JM Baxi has been quoted as saying in a media report.
