Indore- Manmad railway project to bring down logistics cost

An MoU for implementation of the 362 km Indore- Manmad New Railway Line Project has been signed between Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust- Ministry of Shipping, Ministry of Railways, Govt of Maharashtra and Govt of Madhya Pradesh. The new project will reduce the distance from Mumbai/Pune to key central India locations by 171 kilometers, resulting in lower logistics costs.  This is especially significant as the  new railway line will  pass through the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor nodes of Igatpuri, Nashik and Sinnar; Pune and Khed; and Dhule and Nardana. India has expanded the scope of its Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Agreement (CECA) with Singapore, its second largest trading partner in ASEAN. The bilateral trade between the two countries stood at USD 17.7 billion in 2017-18.  India had a trade surplus of USD 2.73 billion with Singapore in 2017-18.
