Kolkata port implements Logistics Data Bank

Logistics Data Bank (LDB), a project run a by the joint venture entity formed by Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor and Japanese IT company NEC Corporation,  has been implemented at Kolkata Port. A formal announcement was made the Kolkata Port Trust (KoPT) last Saturday. Logistics Data Bank service entails real time tracking of the containers with the use of Radio-Frequency Identification (RFID) technology. Modest growth in core industries index

The eight core industries that comprise 40.27 per cent of the Index of Industrial Production (IIP) stood at 134.8 in October, which was 4.8 per cent higher as compared to the index of October, 2017. Its cumulative growth during April to October, 2018-19 was 5.4 per cent. Coal production increased by 10.6 per cent in October but crude Oil production declined by 5.0 per cent and there was a marginal decline of 0.9 percent in natural gas production too.
