Professional services firm Aon recently released its 23rd annual salary increase survey which projects an average increment of 9.7 percent across the sectors in 2019 vis-à-vis 9.5 percent registered in the last year. The survey has broadly tracked businesses across 20 sectors and over 1000 companies and in the pecking order of the projected salary increase, transportation and logistics occupy the last slot in the list. The survey has projected 8.2 percent salary increase for logistics professionals.
Anandorup Ghose, Partner and Head Emerging Markets, Aon, commented, “Pay increases are marginally positive compared to earlier years – a big highlight is the reducing difference in pay increases across industries year on year. A lot of the pay increase decline is also reflected in the constant drop in voluntary attrition levels across industries.”
According to the survey, double-digit salary increment is expected in businesses across five sectors. These include – consumer internet companies (11.1 percent), professional services (11.1 percent), while the average increase will be to the tune of 10.1 percent in consumer products, life sciences and automotive sectors.
