Taking into the account the growing need of modernizing trade supply chains, Switzerland based World Economic Forum (WEF) has brought together over 100 global supply chain leaders to kickstart a unique project –  “Redesigning Trust: Blockchain for Supply Chains.” The key focus of the project would be to standardize blockchain apps relevant for the industry.

A press release from the agency has notified major global agencies, both public and private, joining this project. This includes over 20 governments, major shippers and supply chain suppliers including Maersk, Hitachi, Mercy Corps, Korea Customs Service, Llamasoft and Ports of Los Angeles, Oakland, Valencia and Rotterdam. “ Supply chain solution makers need clear guidelines, tools, and frameworks in order to reduce risks and maximize the benefits of blockchain,” Nadia Hewett, project lead at WEF Blockchain and Distributed Ledger Technology commented.
