Training- Recognition of Prior Learning

CII Institute of logistics in its continuous endeavor to bridge the talent gap to secure competitive advantage for the Logistics sector, has launched a new initiative on “Skill Development on Logistics and Supply chain” in association with Logistics Sector Skill Council (A National body, supported by NSDC to drive skills in Logistics Sector).

 

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

 RPL is to provide recognition to the informal learning or learning through work to get equal acceptance as the formal levels of education. It aims to appreciate prior learning through routine job performance, irrespective of the medium of achieving it.

In short, RPL is a process of assessment of an individual’s prior learning to give due importance to learning as an outcome rather than learning as a process.

The benefit of the Scheme:

  • Organizations can understand the current skill state of their current manpower and is an encouragement for the employees.
  • Employees benefit by getting a Government recognized Certificate from Logistics sector Council on successful passing of the training evaluation and also receive reward money for undergoing the Training.

Companies can nominate their employees / contract staff  for the RPL Skill Development Training Programme. There is no financial commitment for the company. The scheme is fully funded under Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) scheme by Government of India.
