The Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT), the apex body of small merchants across the country, has claimed that its call to celebrate this year’s Rakhi festival as Hindustani Rakhi has received widespread support.
“There is a huge demand for Indian made Rakhi rather than Chinese Rakhi in the markets. Due to the call of CAIT, the people have given China a huge blow of 4 thousand crores of rupees Rakhi business this year,” the association maintained in a release.
CAIT Secretary General Praveen Khandelwal said that every festival of India is embedded with old culture and civilisation of the country which has been greatly destroyed by rapid Westernisation and therefore there is a need to reestablish India’s cultural values. Keeping this objective in mind and to reduce the country’s dependence on China, CAIT has called for Hindustani Rakhi and in the said spirit, the people should use Vedic Rakhi.
