India’s largest power producer, NTPC, recently organised a Vendors Meet on a digital platform reinforcing reduction of imports and to focus on Atmanirbhar Bharat.
Ashok Kumar Juneja, Executive Director, Corporate Contracts & Materials, NTPC, inaugurated the Vendor Meet and emphasised that imports need to be reduced to make ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ a success. He also stated that NTPC will encourage and support its vendors for indigenous manufacturing.
During the meet the significant role of NTPC’s partners i.e. vendors, contractors and suppliers, who helped NTPC in providing uninterrupted power supply even during the pandemic was appreciated.
NTPC’s digitisation drive in procurement activities like uploading of documents by vendors and evaluation of bids and applications have made its systems more efficient, agile and transparent.
Vendors were urged to adhere the standards in quality, cost-effectiveness and timely delivery of goods to assist NTPC with supplying sustained and reliable power.
About 160 vendors of NTPC took part in the virtual meet.
