Cold storage capacity enhanced by 45 lakh MT since 2015

India targeting 3300 MTPA port capacity by 2025

India is targeting to increase port capacity in the range of over 33000 MTPA by the end of 2025. In a reply in Lok Sabha recently, Minister of State for Shipping Mansukh Mandaviya informed that capacity augmentation is driven by  an analysis of nation-wide end-to-end logistics flows of all key commodities (85% of all commodities). Chennai-Bengaluru Industrial Corridor extension plan to include Kochi & Coimbatore

The government has awarded port capacity augmentation projects amounting Rs 13,308.41 crore in the last three years. Dedicated coastal berth added at Chennai Port

Mansukh L.Mandaviya, Union Minister of State for Shipping (Independent Charge), last week inaugurated a host of new infrastructure facilities at Chennai Port for augmenting the cargo handling capacity. Gateway Distriparks Limited (GDL) has entered into a Share Purchase Agreement with Team Global Logistics to sell its second CFS in Chennai, held by its wholly owned subsidiary – Chandra CFS & Terminal Operators Private Limited (Chandra CFS). The ticket size of the deal is expected to be slightly lower than Rs 50 crore and the transaction will be closed before December end. Mansukh Mandaviya, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Shipping and Chemicals and Fertilizers recently inaugurated Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) based Port Access Control System (PACS) at Kolkata Dock System (KDS).
