The Ministry of Shipping has cleared the decks for the development of aRs 156 crore freight village in Varanasi adjoining the Inland Waterways Terminal on River Ganga. Logistics Data Bank (LDB), a project run a by the joint venture entity formed by Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor and Japanese IT company NEC Corporation,  has been implemented at Kolkata Port. A formal announcement was made the Kolkata Port Trust (KoPT) last Saturday. ADB’s $300 million loan to support road infrastructure

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Government of India, last week signed a $300 million Loan Agreement to support lending by India Infrastructure Finance Company Limited (IIFCL). Kenichi Yokoyama, Country Director of ADB’s India Resident Mission who signed the agreement for ADB, said that ADB funding is expected to fund at least 13 sub-projects through IIFCL, involving roads and renewable power generation.
